An intro to Skincare

An intro to Skincare

Wellbeing & Self Care

I started using skincare at about 9 years old. I washed my face using a shower gel every night and morning, and around that time I started developing very small signs of acne and blackheads, but it was very light and barely noticeable. I would get the occasional pimple, but I didn't care too much about it.

Around the age of 10, I started using a moisturiser that my mother had got me and a sunscreen. At that time, I still wasn't very interested in skincare, and I didn't really bother using skincare regularly, as I still had young skin and barely and acne or blackheads.

At the age of 11, I noticed more blackheads and pimples appearing, but it still wasn't much. I did try to start using my cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen more regularly, but sometimes I didn't have time or was running late, or I just simply forgot.

Sometimes, when I would go shopping with my friends, I would buy a random product that looked like it would help my skin and just start using that product. I really shouldn't have been doing that.

After primary school, I started to notice more and more blackheads, pimples and pimple scars. I used my skincare quite regularly, and I tried to keep my skin as clean as possible, but I would still have these blemishes.

Now that I am on a real journey to find what is best for my skin, I want to share this experience with you and hopefully try to teach and inspire people who are also going through their skincare journey.

Pimples and blackheads and dry skin and all the other different variations of acne and skin types cannot all be cured by skincare. Some skin reactions are purely hormonal, which cannot instantly be cured with products. Some skin reactions are caused by different things in the body or outside in the environment.

I would like to help you understand that the word SKINCARE does not only mean using products on your face and hoping for results, it is also a part of taking care of your whole body, and there are many different aspects of that, which I will be explaining in many other posts. For now though, have a nice day🫶, bye!
