Decorating your Room

Decorating your Room

Hobbies & Activities

I love decorating rooms, especially my bedroom. I want my bedroom to be a nice, comfortable space where I can chill and hang out. I want to feel good about my room. For those of you who also like customising your room and making it your own, I'm going to talk about how you decorate your room just the way you want it.

  1. Finding & researching your aesthetic
If you have a specific aesthetic you would like to follow when decorating, that's going to be helpful. Collect some pictures and collages of that aesthetic, and what you would like your room to somewhat resemble. Save some ideas and inspo pictures, you can check out apps like Pinterest or Tiktok to find some ideas, but you web browser works just fine too.

If you don't have a specific aesthetic you would like to follow, that's also fine, but you can still collect inspo pictures of what sort of things you would like to have in your room, or what kind of room you would like to have.
  2. The walls
Now that you have some inspo pictures, we can focus on the walls. If you are able to paint you walls a specific colour, that's great. You can paint them a similar colour to your inspo pics, and you can have a feature wall if you want. You also can choose a nice wallpaper.

If you don't have a specific aesthetic, I recommend painting your walls a lighter colour, because your room will feel bigger, but dark colours work too.

If you can't paint the walls, that's fine. We can decorate the walls you already have. You can also do this after you have painted the walls your desired colour.

There are a handful of ways you can decorate a wall. You can stick pictures, posters, fairy lights, LED lights, vines, and more. You can make collages on your wall in different shapes, or you can make a whole wall of posters from movies or songs. You can attach fairy lights, you can hang frames. You can pretty much do anything with a wall. You can design it however you want.
  3. Furniture
Furniture plays a big part in decoration. If you are lucky enough to be able to choose your furniture, make sure it accords with your room, and doesn't crowd the space up.

I recommend getting furniture that look good with each other, and having similar colours around your room. Of course, you can still be wild and colourful, but make sure that there is some sort of  coordination in the colours you have, otherwise it will just look very messy and unorganised.
  4. Accessories
If you want your room to look extra put together and comfortable, accessorise it. This can mean putting a lamp on a table or a small candle by your bed, anything that you think would fit the vibe. If you had a specific aesthetic, you can match the accessories to the aesthetic.

Thank you for reading, I hope this helped. Bye!
